An excellent opportuning has arisen to work in Elite Women’s cricket, providing Physiotherapy support for Central Sparks.
Central Sparks are one of eight semi-professional cricket teams operating a year-round programme for a Senior and Academy squad. A small professional cricket and sport science and medicine team oversee a Senior and an Academy programme for approx. 30 players. Our home venues include the infamous and stunning New Road in Worcester and the world class stadium, Edgbaston in Birmingham.
We are therefore seeking 1-2 chartered and state registered physiotherapists to work alongside our highly experienced Lead physio and Sport Science and Medical team, supporting the wider coaching group. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an exciting, progressive sport and there is potential for this role to expand into a full time/more permanent position moving forwards. You will be fully supported by an excellent ECB CPD programme, access to in-house support and access to a wide network of practitioners working within elite cricket.
Our winter programme runs until April and includes mornings, evenings and a Saturday session located at venues across the West Midlands (Birmingham, Malvern, Stoke). During the season, April to September, support will be required for matches and training. The primary summary role is to support training sessions for immediate pitch side trauma and injury management. It is appreciated that successful candidate(s) will have other work commitments and dates will be provided as far as possible in advance to enable organisation of other work commitments.
Ideally you will have a valid first aid qualification and a pitchside trauma qualification but for the right candidate we are able to support attainment of these qualifications.
This role would suit an individual looking to gain or further develop their experience in professional sport as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside experienced sports medicine clinicians. Renumeration will be competitive and can be negotiated.
