Meijer investigating how frog ended up in customer's green beans, according to report

WALKER, MI - Meijer says it is investigating how a frog ended up in an Indiana woman's can of green beans she purchased from the retailer.

The South Bend area woman microwaved the green beans and was sitting down to eat when her son noticed the nearly fully-intact toad mixed with the vegetables on his plate, according to ABC57 News

"I was sick - nauseated for two days - and I don't think I'll have green beans anytime soon," Gloria Chubb told reporter Judi Lykowski.

A Grand Ledge family had a similar experience three years ago when a frog was discovered in a bag of frozen Meijer mixed vegetables. The retailer pulled the product from seven Lansing-area stores as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Chubb reported the incident to the county health department which is investigating. The Wisconsin canning company gave her $50 with an apology.

In an email to Chubb, Meijer also apologized and said the company was in "the process of investigating the incident."
