This is no regular movie theater make out session. The Music Box Theatre harkens back to the days of elegant movie palaces. Built in 1929 the theater still retains the same charm. Here you’ll find a dark blue ceiling with twinkling stars, cloud formations and faux columns that bring to mind an al fresco plaza in Tuscany.

A Cubs fan? The new park just off to the side of the field offers amphitheater-style seating where you can relax and gaze up at the marquee. There’s also a quite fancy Starbucks Reserve here, only one of a few in the city.

If the flamingos are out in winter, you’ll be fine too. Take a brisk winter stroll through the zoo’s grounds, maybe warming up in the Kolver Lion House if you choose. Although the holiday Zoo Lights have come down, that also means the families and children have emptied out (at least a little bit). Now it’s your time.

Every Chicagoan has at one time said, Navy Pier is for just tourists. But it’s time stop resisting the romance that could be. Love is in the air—200 feet up, with 360 degree views. The VIP gondola has a glass floor, but who really cares when your making out with your honey?

This is one of the largest conservatories in the nation and often referred to as “landscape are under the glass.” The Jen Jenson-designed site houses thousands of plants from all different climates. Don’t waste your money on a bouquet—the conservatory’s spring flower show just opened too!

This landmark building used to house the first Chicago Public Library. Now its floors are filled with art exhibitions and used for events. It’s also the site of an ornate, glass Tiffany dome (yes, that little blue box Tiffany). The 38-foot diameter dome was crafted by the jeweler’s chief mosaicist J. A. Holzer and is valued at $35 million.

Here’s a fantastic old building that’s got a lot of charm. It’s hard not to imagine all that has happened within its walls. Cozy on up next to a grand fire place in the Drawing Room or see if you can snag a table in the dim-lit Game Room. Head up stairs to Cindy’s for sprawling, one-of-a-kind views of the city.

What’s more romantic than sneaking through stacks of books with your love? Head up to the top floor Winter Garden for amazing, light-filled magic.

Garden of the Phoenix sits on historic Wooded Island in Jackson Park. Take your sweetie through the art-filled Japanese garden, which traces back to the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. The quiet winter scene and winding pathways with little foot bridges will no doubt present an opportunity for true romance.
