KZN Agriculture MEC visits family of boy (5) who died of rabies

MEC Super Zuma on Tuesday visited the family of a five-year-old Empangeni boy
who has died from rabies.
Authorities say the child succumbed to the viral disease two weeks ago.
"What the MEC Super Zuma said earlier on is that rabies is quite dangerous and society must be very careful,” says provincial agriculture spokesperson Vusi Zuma.

“They must take their pets for vaccination to fight the scourge of the disease. There are safety precautions that you must be followed if you are bitten."
The department has rolled-out vaccination drives for rabies in various regions in the province.
