A Roald Dahl Afternoon Tea 

We are delighted to be the official Afternoon Tea partner for Roald Dahl 100 this summer marking the centenary of the birth of the much loved author! Our Executive Chef Dale Osborne and Head Chef Pip Sandrey have stepped into Roald Dahl's world of 'pure imagination' to create a captivating Afternoon Tea which brings his magical stories to life.

The menu is presented in a book and hidden within, you can read and then nibble on the edible menu. Each element of the tea, served in Charlie’s Great Glass Elevator, allows you to reminisce and revel in childhood nostalgia. 

Mr Twit’s very own bird pie from the famous story is encased in buttery puff pastry complete with ‘bird's legs’ poking out of the top. Sophie and The BFG’s quest to Buckingham Palace is brought to life in a ‘breakfast’ sandwich and The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me features with the Pelly’s favourite smoked salmon sandwiches which are topped with trout caviar. Amongst the sweet treats the famous ‘formula 86’ from the frightening favourite The Witches sits hidden inside chocolate mice, the Roly-Poly Bird choux bun is complete with an impressive colourful tail and of course there is a 'giant peach' meringue! The Afternoon Tea is available Monday to Friday 1-5pm from 4th July to 30th September.

Our market lunch menu showcases the finest British produce of the season, with three options to choose from per course.

Currently on the menu is gorgeous Norfolk asparagus, with whipped potato, parmesan and puffed rice or Roasted cod with peas, shoots and dill crème fraiche. For dessert why not try the Peanut parfait, with caramelised nuts and milk ice-cream. Click here to see the weekday lunch menu.

Happy birthday, Your Majesty!

Last weekend's Trooping the Colour, otherwise known as the Queen's Birthday Parade, was a wonderful display of pageantry and is a great annual tradition to end Her Majesty's birthday celebrations. 

This year we celebrated The Queen's 90th birthday by creating four bottled cocktails that marked special occasions in her life. Due to popularity of the cocktails, not to mention the milestone of Her Majesty's 90th birthday, we have decided to extend the availablity of these drinks until the end of summer. 

 

Each cocktail uses gin (Tanqueray No. Ten) and tea, quintessentially British ingredients which also form the inspiration for the interior design in aqua shard.

Our bar is open from midday to 1am Sunday to Thursday and until 2am on Friday and Saturday. You don't need to book, just come on up and enjoy a cocktail with a stunning view!
