Application Deadline Extended to July 31. Information Session Set for Saturday, July 14.

ACC engineering class on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Highland Campus Building. 4000.

Fall applications are being accepted for the Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at ACC, a co-enrollment program that allows students to complete the first two years of an A&M engineering degree at Austin Community College.

An information session for prospective students and their families will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at ACC Highland Campus Building 1000 (6101 Highland Campus Drive).

The Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at ACC is based at the Highland Campus, with some classes taught by visiting A&M engineering faculty. Participants spend two years at ACC, then complete their engineering degree at Texas A&M’s College Station campus.

The program reduces the cost of a bachelor’s degree and allows students to become involved at both institutions.

“There is a growing demand for more engineers. This partnership helps us better meet the need,” says Dr. David Fonken, ACC dean of science, engineering, and math. “Together, we’re opening new doors for students who might not otherwise see a pathway to one of the top engineering programs in Texas.”

The Engineering Academy is open to all students who have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent and are pre-calculus or calculus ready.

The deadline to apply for fall 2018 has been extended through July 31. Space is limited. Participants at the information session will receive one-on-one help applying.
