Message From Headquarters Dear reader, Conferences, events, incentives, and exhibitions in Mexico City are nothing but successes! Mexico City is rapidly becoming one of the world’s great capitals. Contrary to its much maligned reputation for being crowded and dangerous, this city has a wealth of history, an impressive art scene, a dynamic street culture, and some of the best food in Latin America. The key? Well-meaning citizens – which represent the vast majority - distance themselves from conflicts and pursue hard work, a fact known everywhere.

The city offers plenty of escape valves in the way of old-school cantinas, riveting indoor and outdoor museums, dramatic murals, and boating excursions along ancient tranquil canals. With all that and so much more going on, you just might be swayed to scrap those beach plans. Sincerely, Jose-Manuel (Manolo) GARCIA, CIS, CMS Second Generation, Innovator & President

ANA Airlines New Route to Start in 2017 A direct flight from Japan to Mexico! Reportedly, the World Tourism Organization has said that one of the countries that invests more on international travel is Japan. The Japanese are interested on native cultures, art, history, and nature. They also love exploring local gastronomy, experiencing cultures, and of course... they love shopping! According to media sources, the Japanese market has a growing interest in cultural destinations in Mexico, such as the world heritage sites, luxury tourism, and

sun-and-beach destinations, besides business travels. The main destinations for Japanese in Mexico are Mexico City, Cancun, Riviera Maya, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, amongst others. ANA, the largest Japanese airline, plans to launch its flights from Tokyo Narita to Mexico City in 2017. This will be the only daily nonstop route between the two countries. The airline will operate the route on Boeing 787-8 aircrafts. Mexico City will be ANA’s number 42 international destination. The expansion of their international network is the central pillar of growth for the airline. The airline chose Mexico, because it is attractive as a manufacturing and exportation hub, and has free trade agreements with 45 countries around the world,

including Japan itself and the United States. “In our effort to provide greater choice and convenience for our international passengers, we are proud to welcome Mexico City to the ANA family and look forward to strengthening the ties between Japan and Mexico”, said Osamu Shinobe, ANA’s president and CEO. ANA has had sales offices in Mexico City since July 2015. Since 2010, foreign direct investment from Japan in Mexico has increased about 2.7 times, and the number of Japanese-owned companies with operations in Mexico has doubled, particularly in the automotive industry, resulting in stronger economic ties between the two countries.

Travel Tip: Flood Yourself with Fluids Drink plenty of water, which helps combat dehydration. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and salty snacks. Also avoid carbonated beverages in flight; they create gas. If you are not traveling in Business or First Class where it is easier to get water whenever you want it, then carry your own bottled water. After the flight, continue to drink plenty of water. Keep your mouth shut. A plane’s dry air, the need to shout over an engine’s roar, and the bacteria-laden environment of the cabin are all less than ideal conditions for your vocal cords. Because of this, Susan RoAne, a professional speaker who had voice problems in the past, does not say much when airborne. As the author of How to Work a Room, she is an advocate of chatting with fellow passengers but now, under the recommendation of her speech therapist, RoAne keep her mouth shut. She maintains a polite and friendly manner with her seatmates while still protecting her health. Sucking on lozenges will also help keep your mouth closed and increase saliva production.
