MoviePass Altered Its Terms Of Service in a Ridiculous Way and They Can Change How Many Movies You See Per Month

Movie MoviePass by Joey Paur

I have been a huge supporter of MoviePass! I have loved the service ever since I signed up and I use it all the time. It's saved me so much money at the movies!

When I initially signed up, the service permitted me to watch one movie a day for $10 a month. Pretty awesome, right!? And it freakin' works! But now, MoviePass has changed the terms of their service, and it's kind of ridiculous because it's not what people like myself initially signed up for.

MoviePass reserves the right to change the rules of movie-going attendance and ticket availability to members in connection with the Service at anytime. MoviePass reserves the right to change from time to time the number of eligible movies a member can see per month. MoviePass reserves the right to offer members a new price option if they exceed watching a certain amount of movies per month.

Wait, what? That's not what I signed up for! This new term basically tells us that if we take full advantage of the service we signed up for, they have the right to limit the number of movies we see even more or make us pay extra. This is the complete opposite of the term "Use it or lose it." This is basically "Use it too much and you will lose it."

Of course, I'm still going to use the service as long as I keep saving money with it, but the fact that they are giving themselves an out if people actually start to take advantage of the system that they signed up for is kind of discouraging. What do you think?
