We’re committed to helping people live longer, healthier, better lives, and working alongside institutions like Tufts helps us take important steps toward achieving our mission. Food is Medicine works on integrating food-based nutritional interventions into healthcare to manage and prevent disease, which in turn addresses growing disease burdens, costs, and inequities in diet-related illnesses across the nation.

By embracing inclusion, we build a better workplace together. One way our colleagues champion inclusion is through our Global Women’s Alliance (GWA) Employee Resource Group. The GWA is open to all colleagues, including allies, and plans activities designed to promote gender equity. In honor of #InternationalWomensDay and finding ways to build an equitable future, a few of our colleagues are sharing the best piece of career advice they’ve received. #IWD2024 Video description: What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve received? “Manage yourself with intention, never stop learning, have a curious mindset, and maintain optimism in adversity.” Andrea Brown, AVP Business Development. “You will never feel ‘ready’ for a big step up or taking a risk in your career. Meaningful growth comes from getting uncomfortable and pushing past your fear of the unknown.” Katie Firth, Head of MIM US & Europe Business Office. “Don’t wait for permission to do what you believe is right for yourself.” Jessica Portelance, VP, Head of US Business Development & Portfolio Management.
