In a very Auburn Hills way, the Chrysler Group today replaced departed Ram CEO Fred Diaz mostly by adding new jobs for executives who keep one or more of their current jobs.

It seems no executive can have just one job at Chrysler, starting with the multinational top guy, Sergio Marchionne, who is CEO of Chrysler, CEO of owner Fiat Automotive and the top executive of Fiat Industrial, a truck and equipment company spun off last year.

So it was no surprise that Chrysler said today that Reid Bigland would replace Diaz as CEO of Ram trucks, while keeping his current jobs as U.S. sales chief for all Chrysler brands and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Bigland, who came to Chrysler in 2006 from Freightliner, will, however, give up the job of CEO of the Dodge brand.

The Dodge CEO job goes to Timothy Kuniskis, who has been running the Fiat brand in North America. Kuniskis will give up the Fiat job and -- in a move that must make you feel undervalued at Chrysler -- just have the Dodge job..

Jason Stoicevich, will be the new head of the Fiat brand in North America -- while remaining head Chrysler's California Business Center.

Diaz was also CEO of Chrysler de Mexico and has been replaced there by Bruno Cattori -- who keeps his current job as director for retail sales and fleet for all Chrysler Group brands in Mexico.

"These appointments are part of Chrysler Group's strategy to continuously reinforce its leadership ranks as we continue on our path to achieve our business targets," Sergio Marchionne said in a statement. "They are a further confirmation of the depth of our talent pool and of the exceptional opportunities that are available to our people as part of their career development."
