Made in the North East shortlists revealed

Made in the North East shortlists revealed

Insider can today reveal which manufacturing companies have been shortlisted for this year's prestigious Made in the North East Awards.

This is the seventh year that the awards have been hosted by Insider. They recognise and reward the excellence of the North East’s manufacturing sector and showcase the successful achievements of innovative and forward-thinking businesses across the region.

The winners of the awards will be announced at the gala awards dinner at Redworth Hall Hotel, Newton Aycliffe on 18th October 2018.

Following the awards dinner, all of the winners will be automatically entered into Insider's national manufacturing final, the Made in the UK Awards, which takes place in June 2019.

The event’s sponsors are Barclays, Clear Business Outcome, Jackson Hogg, Nice Network, Northern Skills Group and Venator. They are also being supported by the Digital Catapult Centre for the North East and Tees Valley.

The Made in the North East Awards are also presented in association with Emcon (formerly Oktoberfest), the North East's premier engineering and manufacturing exhibition. Emcon takes place on the same day as the Made in the North East Awards – Thursday 18 October - at Xcel Centre, Newton Aycliffe. Click here for details about the event.

Insider brought together an independent judging panel of manufacturing experts to run the rule over all the entry submissions for the Made in the North East Awards and to decide on the shortlists and the winners in each category. The names of the judges will be announced at the awards dinner.

Philip Cunliffe, Insider's regional business editor, chaired the judging session. He said: "We were delighted not only with the number of entry submissions we received but also in the sheer quality of those submissions. It was also gratifying to see some new companies entering the fray this year.

“The judging, as ever, was not easy and we needed to make some tough decisions over the shortlists and the eventual winners. We wish all those shortlisted the very best of luck on the night."
