From flying with the world famous Red Arrows to presenting a programme from Boston USA, William admits that he's been able to do things through this job that he would never had the chance of doing otherwise.

William was born in Lincoln and went to the local Eastgate, Westgate and Lincoln Christ's Hospital Schools.
He says he loves the fact that he's a genuine yellowbelly working on the yellowbelly radio station.

William first stepped through the doors of BBC Radio Lincolnshire in 1986 when he volunteered to work on a Sunday youth programme. It was a good training ground - interviewing, editing and driving the radio car.
Actually, he stepped through the doors a few years before that, but that was when the building was a supermarket - years after it was the Radion Cinema.
Eventually BBC Radio Lincolnshire gave him a job as a programme assistant helping out behind the scenes.

After standing in on just about every programme, working early mornings and late nights and making endless cups of coffee, William's presenting career really started when he was asked to do the weekday early show between 5 - 7am.
After doing that for a couple of years, he moved to the Breakfast Show - which he presented for the next seven years.

A few years ago William left the station for six months to help train other BBC staff on the latest broadcast technology being phased in.

He sometimes jokes about it on air, but the best/scariest/most thrilling thing William has ever done on air was when he was invited to fly in the back seat of a Hawk aircraft - one of the Lincolnshire based Red Arrows. When he watches them now he still can't quite believe that he's been up there as well.

It wasn't a full display - but the pilot took him through a several loops and rolls. After half an hour he was ready to come down but insists he didn't need his sick bag.

William still lives in Lincoln - with his wife Charlotte, son Billy and daughter Juliet.
