Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.7 is available now with new capabilities like fully supported adaptive transport in HDX, Generic client IME, ACR/SR policy control, bidirectional content redirection and CDM enhancements.

Adaptive transport support
Adaptive transport for XenApp and XenDesktop 7.13 is now fully supported with Receiver for Windows 4.7. It optimizes data transport by applying a new Citrix protocol called Enlightened Data Transport (EDT) in preference to TCP whenever possible.
Compared to TCP and UDP, EDT delivers a superior user experience on long-haul WAN and internet connections. EDT dynamically responds to changing network conditions while maintaining high server scalability and efficient use of network capacity. EDT is built on UDP and improves data throughput for all ICA virtual channels, including Thinwire display remoting, file transfer (Client Drive Mapping), printing, multimedia redirection. If UDP is not available, adaptive transport automatically reverts to TCP.

Bidirectional content redirection
Most users rely on the browser apps as the mission critical apps for their work. Bi-directional content redirection added in XenApp & XenDesktop 7.13 and Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.7, allows the users to run the URL either on server or client where it is best suited from experience and security point of view. It enables administrators to specify client to host and host to client URL redirection using client and host policies. ACR, SR Policy control
In XenApp & XenDesktop 7.10 and earlier, you were required to configure auto client reconnect and session reliability timeouts both using a Citrix Studio policy and by modifying the registry or the default.ica file.
Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.7 registers the auto client reconnect and session reliability settings set in the Citrix Studio policy and now you don’t have to set it at multiple places. This configuration works with XenApp & XenDesktop 7.11 onward.
Generic Client IME (Input Method Editors)
Citrix Receiver now provides enhanced support for soft keyboard and more options to change Client IME important for Citrix customers in Asia Pacific and Japan region. Generic IME uses IME from the client device as opposed to the remote session.

- Less configuration for admins
- Soft keyboard for Windows 10 and 8

In addition this release enhanced the performance with file copy operation in Client drive mapping and added the new ECDHE ciphers for enhanced security.
Note: If you are using the old builds of NetScaler 10.5 and 10.1, make sure that you refer the article CTX221453 to avoid the issue mentioned in the article when accessed from Receiver for Windows 4.7 and Receiver for Mac 12.5
