The #10for10 Campaign is your opportunity to make a big impact through a concise but concerted effort. $10/month, a small amount, but integral in keeping innovative art within reach.
Our goal is for each #renegade affiliated with RPG to pledge $10/month to advance our artistic efforts throughout the year. Additionally, we want you to introduce 10 people in your community to our work and support them in becoming #renegade as well by pledging $10/month.All 10 for 10 #renegade supporters will be invited to select RPG rehearsals, screenings, and social events in Brooklyn throughout the year in celebration of our first decade!

INDEPENDENT PROJECTS + RESEARCH
RPG artistic director André Zachery is currently a guest faculty artist at VCU Dance. In his new creation SWAY he remixes the sound and movement of Black spirituals through the lens of Afrofuturism. Traditionally, spirituals were coded hymns that communicated sorrow, pain, wonder, and even joy of Black slaves in bondage America. Yet at the root of spirituals was always an acknowledgment of better days on “the other side”, and a finding the way there. SWAY uncovers the motion, the feeling, and the unity that continues to move a people forward with a sense of cool, confidence, and consciousness.

The Collegium for African Diaspora Dance (CADD) third conference aims to carry forward enlivening discussions on the power and politics of global Black Dance by bringing together scholars, practitioners, educators, and other stakeholders for three days of intellectual and artistic inspiration. DANCE BLACK JOY: Global Affirmations and Defiance seeks to center African diaspora dance as a resource and method of aesthetic possibility.
RPG artistic director André M. Zachery will collaborate with fellow artists yon Tandé and ChE in devising a workshop platform where each of their respective works will embed around three variant contexts: the textual, embodied, and virtual. Knowing that all the work derives from a movement-based practice resourced from the African diaspora and African American and Indigenous cultural work; in strong that its goal/objective is liberation as existence.
