War drums set off BN election machinery in Lawas.

LIMBANG: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan would be seeking out intellectuals and experts to come on board the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) to help chart the direction and plans for northern Sarawak’s development.

“Rest assured that I would inviting intellectuals and experts from Limbang and Lawas to come on board to help chart the development and direction of NRDA, “ he said this in his speech at the launching of BN election machinery of P222 Lawas constituency at Lawas Indoor Stadium today.

Awang Tengah, who is NRDA chairman, Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurs and Minister of Urban Development and Second Natural Resources, said this is part of the inclusive BN government initiatives in boosting rural transformation in Limbang and Lawas districts.

The establishment of Upper Rajang Development Agency (Urda), Highlands Development Agency (HDA), and NRDA underscored the emphasis of accelerating development of rural Sarawak.

On Lawas BN candidacy, he urged them to be patient and wait for the official announcement by the top BN leadership, but pointed out that state BN chairman and chief minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has indicated it earlier in Lawas.
