Coronavirus (COVID-19) Q&A

Can I plan for my fertility treatment after COVID-19?

We are continuing to offer 1-2-1's and doctor consultations virtually and via telephone. We want to help our patients comply with social distancing, and all face to face appointments are postponed until we are safe to do so. We are still here to offer you the expert advice and support at this time, so please do call our experts if you need more information on any treatments at this time on 0161 300 2730.

Are you still treating patients that have started treatments?

We are currently working on completing treatments where a patient has started their treatment cycle, and we have been contacting all of our patients to keep them updated. We are maintaining communication open with patients for advice and reassurance. Updates will be on our website, social, and our Salve App. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions at this time on 0161 300 2730

What will happen when Manchester Fertility reopens?

We will work as efficiently as possible to see everybody who wants to start their treatment once we can open again. We have a highly skilled team of experts in place for when it is safe to do so; you can read more about them all here.

Will my frozen embryos be safe if clinics aren't open for treatments?

We can assure you that your frozen eggs, sperm, and embryos will be safe. Our Embryologists will be continuing to regularly monitor and maintain our cryostorage, which is monitored 24/7 and maintained on a regular basis.

What is your advice for pregnant women at this time?

The advice for pregnant women from the RCOG is reassuring. Pregnant women do not appear to be more susceptible to infection with COVID-19 than the general population.

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has issued guidance for pregnant women, which can be accessed here.

Will I need to repeat my blood tests before treatment?

Depending on the timescale before we can start your treatment, we may need to repeat some of your blood tests. We will not be charging for repeat blood tests.

We know how upsetting this time is for all of our patients who are waiting to start their treatment. Our priority must be your safety and wellbeing. Our team are available to offer further advice or support at this time; please contact our team of experts on 0161 300 2730.
