Plaintiffs bar giant Morgan & Morgan is making a sweeping commitment to the recruitment of talented trial lawyers. After a year of planning, the firm is launching its Morgan Associates Program, offering 60 students from the top 100 U.S. law schools a 10-week immersive trial law experience. The program with a substantial price tag of $2 million is meant to put Morgan & Morgan on the map as a pipeline for top legal talent entering plaintiffs work, the firm said.

“We went through about 1,000 applicants from 33 law schools and the students will be deployed through 14 different Morgan & Morgan offices,” the firm’s Chief Operating Officer Reuven Moskowitz told The National Law Journal. Throughout the three-element program, each student will move from “intake qualification and how those conversations happen, to discovery, depositions and motions,” until finally sitting in on a trial with one of the firm’s partners. “Students will learn firsthand what it means to pick a jury, talk to a jury and to do closing arguments,” Moskowitz said.
