Check out the high-tech upgrades coming to the redesigned NYC subway system

Governor Cuomo and the MTA released a lot more information today about the upcoming upgrades to the New York subway system. Not how they were going to be paid for exactly, but a lot of cool design details!

In addition to 1,025 new subway cars that will include Wi-Fi, USB ports, digital displays and open-gangway designs, 31 of the city’s subway stations will be getting improvements like countdown clocks, better lighting and “new easy to clean finishes” on the floor.

The doors of the new subway cars will also be 8 inches wider, which the MTA hopes will cut down the time that trains are in a station by 32 percent by making it easier for passengers to enter and exit.
