Jim’s Place was the charter boat headquarters and where you got fishing information and could purchase your cigarettes, drinks and snacks on the Destin harbor in the 1970s.

On March 13, 1975, the Okaloosa County Air Terminal located on State Road 85 opened its doors. The 32,000 square foot facility was constructed at a cost of $1.7 million. On hand for the grand opening was Rep. Bob Sikes, a Democrat who represented the Florida Panhandle in the U.S. House of Representative from 1941 to 1979.
