On March 13, 1975, the Okaloosa County Air Terminal located on State Road 85 opened its doors. The 32,000 square foot facility was constructed at a cost of $1.7 million. On hand for the grand opening was Rep. Bob Sikes, a Democrat who represented the Florida Panhandle in the U.S. House of Representative from 1941 to 1979.
