Two Weeks Left in Holiday Tree Recycling Program
Don't forget that on Wednesdays during the month of January, Lakeshore Recycling Systems will pick-up holiday trees at no cost. To participate remove all lights, ornaments and garland and place your tree at the parkway behind the curb.

Alarm Permit Renewal Deadline Fast Approaching
Village code requires that all household, business and fire alarm users hold an alarm permit and that the permit is renewed annually. As such, 2018 Alarm Permit applications were mailed out at the end of December. Pay by 4:30 p.m. on January 31 to avoid a late fee.

A (Mostly) Jargon-Free Recap of the Fiscal Year 2019 Budget

In the midst of contentious budget discussions on the national level, I feel lucky to serve in a Village with such clear direction and support for Village staff from our elected officials, as reiterated by the Village Board unanimously voting to approve the Fiscal Year 2019 Budget (for March 1, 2018-February 28, 2019) at their January 19 meeting. 

Here are some key take-aways to know...

SOSA (South of South Avenue) Project Pushes Forward


In partnership with the Village of Glencoe and the Glencoe Park District, the Friends of the Green Bay Trail are planning the next phase of native plant restoration on the Green Bay Trail along what they've coined  “SOSA” – the area south of South Avenue to the Glencoe Community Garden.

Later this winter, Park District crews will begin removing invasive buckthorn to prepare the site for new native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses. Learn more and view a set of FAQs via the link below.
