Photo Journal: Net Atlantic’s Community Garden Project

A few weeks later...

This spring, Net Atlantic adopted four plots in one of Salem’s community gardens, with the intention of donating all the food we grow to homeless charity programs in the local Salem area.

Our volunteer committee got to work in late May, planting romaine and red leaf lettuces, along with tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers.

Last week, we were excited to see the fruits of our labor begin to take shape in the form of tiny cucumbers, baby zucchini, and clusters of little green tomatoes – and some very healthy heads of lettuce! It’s so satisfying to see our work paying off, and we can’t wait until we can start harvesting and donating our fresh veggies to local homeless shelters.

Below are some photos of the journey so far. Enjoy!
