Subway names Mike Kappitt chief operating and insights officer

Former Carrabba’s president to oversee quick-service sandwich brand’s digital channels

Subway has named Mike Kappitt to the new role of chief operating and insights officer. He will lead the brand’s efforts in digital channels, including third-party delivery and catering, the company said Tuesday.

Kappitt joins the Milford, Conn.-based quick-service sandwich brand from his most recent role as president of Carrabba’s Italian Grill, a division of Tampa, Fla.-based Bloomin’ Brands Inc.

"Mike brings an extraordinary track record for growing global brands through insights-driven marketing," said John Chidsey, Subway CEO, in a statement. "His expertise will be invaluable for the continued growth of the Subway brand."

Kappitt most recently served as president of Carrabba's Italian Grill, where since 2016 he had been responsible for the domestic operation and development of the brand.
