We are happy to invite you to the 3rd episode of the Inclusive Outreach Community of Practice Webinar Series.
For this session, we are revamping the program to make the webinar more engaging with the audience! In this session, we will be hearing from Maria Fernanda Duran about ""Breaking the Barriers: Adding inclusive elements to outreach activities."
After the talk, we will teach you how to make "Planets on Strings" through a Hands-On Workshop:
Followed by a coffee-hour networking time.
The IAU Inclusive Outreach (Inspiring Stars) subWorkgroup's series of Webinar meant to share and spread the experiences about inclusive astronomy outreach. If you are passionate about astronomy outreach and are interested to make this experience inclusive for people with disabilities, these webinars are for you!
During these webinars, outreach practitioners will share their experience so that others can learn from that and contribute with their own knowledge. In more details, the goals of these seminars are:
To provide a forum for IAU members, astronomy outreach practitioners, amateur astronomers etc., to showcase their projects, innovations and activities for astronomy outreach.
To provide a platform for cross-collaborations between teams of IAU sub-working groups, educators, and astronomy outreach practitioners.
Webinars will be structured with 4-5 sessions of 15-20 minutes each, lasting between 60 and 90 minutes, and will be scheduled 3 or 4 times per year. The first webinar is scheduled for April 29 at 13:30 UT. Participation is free; details will be published on the IAU Astronomy for Equity and Inclusion web page (

Any outreach practitioner who has experience in inclusion practices can apply for a slot in these webinars; In the next weeks we will publish the schedule for the remainder of the year and the form to apply.
