Most people receive a few friendly Facebook messages or a commemorative Instagram post on their birthday. But if you’re Ariana Grande, your birthday well-wishes become a trending topic on Twitter.
Fans and friends alike took to Twitter and Instagram to share their love for the singer’s 24th birthday, singing the pop star’s praise and posting intimate photos. Dance/electronic music trio and recent Billboard cover stars Major Lazer referenced their song featuring Grande, “All My Love,” for a clever birthday wish, while comedian Ellen DeGeneres posted a video compilation of the pop star’s appearance on her show Ellen.

The messages are even more poignant in light of the Manchester Arena bombing that occurred just over a month ago (May 22) after Grande’s performance there. The bombing killed 23 and injured 250, but Grande herself was uninjured and returned to the city in June for her One Love Manchester concert, a benefit for the victims and families of the attack.
