Oklahoma City officer arrested, accused of domestic abuse

An Oklahoma City Police Department officer has been arrested and accused of domestic assault.

Police records show Darren Wayne Martin, 45, was arrested Nov. 29 on a complaint of domestic assault and battery in Oklahoma City.

Police were notified of the incident after Martin's wife filed a report. The woman stated that She was arguing with Martin in bed late Nov. 29 when he pushed her out, demanding she leave.

Martin then allegedly followed the woman into the living room and demanded she leave the house. The woman stated at one time Martin grabbed her by the arm and then both legs in an attempt to remove her from the home.

The woman then decided to leave and Martin allegedly followed her to the garage and began throwing items from the bedroom to the garage. Police records show one of the items bounced off the vehicle and hit her in the face, causing a laceration. Police also noted the woman had bruising on her arm and leg.

Martin was voluntarily interviewed at Oklahoma City Police Department headquarters and then arrested. In 2009, Martin was arrested on a domestic abuse complaint involving his 16-year-old daughter. Police say a verbal argument between the two escalated into a physical confrontation. Police say the girl showed officers bruises on her arm and scratches on her wrist from the incident.

That case was later dismissed.
