(WHNT) – The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety in Richburg, South Carolina conducted a test Wednesday featuring an indoor hailstorm.

The storm was created by high speed “guns” that fired hail at structures and vehicles. A spokesman for the insurance institute said by studying hail’s impact on buildings and vehicles they can better understand and estimate damage costs when owners file claims.
