Hard work will guarantee NPP victory — George Andah

Supporters and sympathisers of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been advised to work very hard during the electioneering so as to wrest power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Nenyi George Andah, said would free Ghanaians from the hardships being experienced currently.

He also urged them to bury their differences and stay united to prosecute an effective and vigorous campaign that would position the NPP as the viable alternative party poised to be elected back into power.

Keep-fit exercise

Addressing party faithful at the Bawjiase Methodist School Park after a Salla keep-fit exercise last Sunday, the NPP parliamentary candidate said what would enable the party to recapture power for the youth, as well as polling station executive members, to embark on a robust political campaign.

He stated that Ghanaians were yearning for change and that change could only be realised if the youth supported the leadership of the party from the polling station through to the national level to convince the electorate to vote for the party.

According to him, effective campaigning at the grass-roots level by all and sundry was very essential as it would brighten the fortunes of the NPP in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary election.

He stressed that unity at all levels of the party was an important prerequisite towards ensuring an NPP victory, noting that the NPP in Awutu Senya West was very focused and united towards winning both the presidential and parliamentary seat, which is currently being occupied by Madam Hanna Serwaa Tetteh.

Issues-based campaign

He explained that the party had policies, programmes and initiatives that would turn around the state of the country, adding “the NDC had destroyed the affairs of the country which had brought untold hardships on Ghanaians.’’

He admonished members of the party to embark upon a clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks since such a move would make the party more attractive to floating voters to enable them to vote massively for the party.

The parliamentary candidate cautioned the supporters not to allow themselves to be induced with money from the NDC and said ‘’when the NDC distributes money to influence your voting pattern, take it and vote against them.’’

He further entreated them to consider their current living conditions and give the NPP another chance to properly manage the affairs of the nation as it had the proven track record of being a better manager of the economy under former President Kufuor’s administration.

Youth organiser

Mr Percy Dennis, the Central Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, for his part, said the imminent change would be experienced in all parts of the country and, therefore, entreated party loyalists to come out in their numbers to convince Ghanaians to vote for the party.

He stated that there was high cost of living in the country which had made life very difficult for most Ghanaians coupled with high utility tariffs.

He appealed to the party members to vote for Mr Andah and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the November elections.

The Awutu Senya West Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Stephen Quaye, appealed to party supporters to rally behind the party in its quest to recapture political power from the NDC.
