Ballet students accepted into programs for summer study
Twenty-two students from The City Ballet School in downtown Hagerstown have been chosen to study in prestigious training programs for the summer.
Dancers were selected during national audition tours in the spring for a highly coveted spot in America’s most selective ballet schools.
Programs include American Ballet Theatre, The Washington Ballet, The Kirov Academy of Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Houston Ballet, and Boston Ballet.
Dancers who have chosen to study at these programs will spend two to eight weeks away from home to further their studies. Students who stay home for the summer are studying at City Ballet’s advanced summer intensive where they are training with resident faculty and guest artists.
The City Ballet School is home to dancers from around the Tri-State area and accepts new students in the fall and spring.
