ST. LOUIS, Mo. – University of Alabama All-American and Scholastic All-American Kiana Winston has been named to the 15th-annual Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Community Service Team, the league office announced Friday.

Winston has been a part of numerous service projects during her Alabama tenure, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and Hurricane Harvey Relief. The senior from Ft. Worth, Texas, has also volunteered for the University of Alabama Career Center, the Crimson Tide's Halloween Extravaganza, Alabama's Power of Pink breast cancer awareness initiative and a grade school Bible study. Winston also took part in the RISE Holiday Party and Parents Night Out.

A 10-time All-American, three-year Scholastic All-American and two-time SEC champion, Winston, a UofA graduate in December, won 13 individual event titles during the 2018 regular season.

The SEC sponsors a Community Service Team for each of its 20 sports. The Gymnastics Community Service Team represents eight SEC gymnasts, one from each competing institution, highlighting an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Previous Crimson Tide honorees include: Aja Sims (2017), Lauren Beers (2016, 2015), Kim Jacob (2014, 2013), Ria Domier (2012), Alyssa Chapman (2011), Kassi Price (2010), Ricki Lebegern (2009, 2008), Courtney Priess (2007), Dana Pierce (2006, 2005) and Stephanie Kite (2004).

Winston and No. 6-ranked Alabama begin the postseason Saturday with the SEC Championships in the evening session that gets underway at 6 p.m. CT in Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.
