Brief Description
Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.
Detailed Description
As a member of the technical writing division, you will write, review and produce single books or individual chapters, appendices, etc. of product user documentation and/or courseware. Obtain data and information from the appropriate source e.g. technical staff and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Job Requirements
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
Additional Details
As a member of the technical writingteam, you will

  • Write sections of documents or major documents under the supervision of more senior writers and managers.
  • Make tactical decisions about organization and content of own material in consultation with the project lead.
  • Learn to develop own schedule and plan.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of information development and publication tools, such as FrameMaker and Visio
  • Excellent research skills
  • Ability to understand and document complex concepts
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation about highly technical subjects
  • Ability to follow established standards and styles
  • Ability to work in a collaborative group setting
  • Undergraduate degree in English, journalism, or computer science
  • The following skills and knowledge area plus:
    • Knowledgeof programming in Java and JEE and ability read and understand code

Familiarity with telecommunications protocolsand technologies such as Service Delivery Platforms, WebLogicServer, SOA,  Web Services
