This Visual Spatial Resource Bundle is designed to support children's spatial perceptual development. It was created by an occupational therapist and includes a variety of activities and worksheets.
Spatial awareness is knowing where your body is in space in relation to objects or other people. To have good spatial awareness, you also need to understand and respond to a change in position from these objects. This is a complex skill that children develop from an early age.
Spatial perception is the ability to perceive an object's position in relation to yourself or in relation to other items. It implies the ability to perceive which way an object or symbol is positioned/turned. For some children, this skill is difficult to develop, although there are lots of activities parents and teachers can do to promote visual spatial development.
This Bundle includes the Spatial Awareness and Spatial Planning resources.
Spatial Awareness resource includes various hands-on activities to practice visual-spatial skills needed for early spatial cognition and spatial planning.
