SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2022 PAGEANT!

Thank you for your interest in participating in the North Carolina Azalea Festival Scholarship Pageant. This scholarship pageant is open to high school Juniors and Seniors in New Hanover County, Brunswick, and Pender County. The Pageant is based on a private interview with judges, evening gown competition, and on-stage presentation. The Azalea Festival gives away over $12,000 annually in scholarship monies to the winner and runners-up of the Scholarship Pageant. Additionally, the winner of the Scholarship Pageant is invited to be the Official Azalea Festival Princess, with the four runners-up as her Court. The Azalea Festival Princess represents the Festival to the public for the entire year.

Each year the pageant accepts high school Juniors or Seniors to be in the Pageant.  Applicants must register by January 1st and attend the mandatory contestant/parent Scholarship Pageant Interest meeting the first week in January, at First Baptist Activity Center, Independence Blvd. This is an informational meeting where the parent (guardian) should attend. You will have the opportunity to officially sign up and the registration fee of $75 will be due at that time.

Please note, you must be a Junior or Senior in High School and be able to attend Sunday meetings from January-March to participate in the Scholarship Pageant.

The Scholarship Pageant will be held in March at UNCW's Kenan Auditorium.

Thanks for your interest!
