GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The Content Producer will handle the creative development of content for interactive assets, including the main website (ymca.net) and the social media channels of the YMCA of the USA. By fostering insightful discussion and publishing notable content, the content producer effectively advances the digital marketing team vision of strengthening communities online.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in interactive marketing, journalism, or content production
  • Experience with online writing, journalism, content creation and digital curation
  • Experience developing creative and compelling online features
  • Knowledge of journalistic ethics and procedures
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver is required
  • Experience with a content management system (CMS)
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and techniques
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills is required
  • Demonstrated project management experience is required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to handle change, learn and keep abreast of new technology
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing vendor relationships (agency, freelance, Web and print) is preferred
  • Experience implementing communications strategies is preferred
  • Ability to research a variety of topics and materials and verify information
  • Ability to understand interactive audiences and develop strategies to reach them
  • Requires a commitment to the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor and foster activity on the Y brand social media properties and ymca.net
  • Write, coordinate and publish copy and content for websites via the content management system, including management of user-submitted content (text, graphics and video)
  • Produce blog content, including managing cross-blog promotions (ex. Scheduling guest blogger opportunities)
  • Analyze headline and other content to maximize visits, clickthroughs and general user experience
  • Identify new content opportunities and ways to repurpose existing content
  • Assist the management of existing social media sites, including interacting with the social media audience
  • Participate in editorial planning sessions and provide creative story ideas
  • Prepare interactive reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Communications

EFFECT ON END RESULTS/STRATEGIC IMPACT

This position will execute the development of online and interactive initiatives that strategically market and position the Y’s support in communities across the country.

 

Salary: $52,500 – $59,000
