ISIS Destroyed More Iconic Archaeological Monuments in Syria
Drone footage released by the Ministry of Defense in Russia this week revealed further destruction by ISIS militants in one of the Middle East’s Roman sites in Palmyra, Syria. Palmyra’s Roman amphitheatre lies in ruins and its unique monument of columns has been flattened. Learn more at Science Alert.

3,800-Year-Old Garden Discovered in Canada
Archaeologists discovered what it seems to be an ancient garden in the Pacific Northwest, located about 19 miles east of Vancouver. The garden is believed to be at least 3,800 years old and was once underwater. The discovery shows signs of sophisticated engineering techniques used to control the flow of water to grow wild wapato tubers, also known as Indian potatoes. Learn more at Live Science.
