BOBBY Convey has fired a parting shot at Reading following his move back to the US.
Convey, who has joined San Jose Earthquakes, felt the club left it too late before telling him he could leave last year.
He said: "I was told in the summer I could leave, two days before the transfer window closed.
"That wasn't really enough time to find a team, so I had to sit in England for six months, which was disappointing because everyone just wants to play.
"I want to just enjoy playing football again, instead of waking up, going to training and knowing you're not going to play."
On his move to San Jose, Convey added: "When Frank (Yallop) called, he was actually in England and I saw him there.
"I just thought there's no better way to enjoy playing again than with a coach I like, and that just seemed like the best option for both of us."
