Phil Weaver, the co-executive director of the N.C. Coaches Association, has been named the executive director of the National Organization of Coaches Association Directors.

Weaver is just the third director in the 22 year history of the organization. He replaces Keith Richardson of South Carolina who severed for 12 years.

Previously, Weaver served on the NOCAD Board of Directors and as its president in 2004. He will continue his current role with the NCCA.

North Carolina joined NOCAD in 1992.

NOCAD was incorporated as a 501-c-3 non-profit to help generate revenue for and provide support to member states' high school coaches organizations. A total of 37 coaches associations are members of the organization.

Weaver isn't the only representative from North Carolina serving though. Joe Franks, the Assistant Executive Director of the NCCA, was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors. It is only the third time an assistant executive director has been elected.
