LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University men's tennis team made it a perfect 3-0 for the weekend as the Knights followed Friday victories over Brescia and St. Catharine's with 6-3 triumph over visiting Campellsville on Saturday.

Bellarmine opened the Campbellsville match by capturing two of the three doubles matches with wins at the number one and three positions.

In singles the Knights took two of the first three flights with both Anton Rabinov and Carlos Antonioli winning in dramatic third set super-tie breaks.  Rabinov won the first set convincingly 6-0 and was up 2-1 in the second when the match turned into an epic battle with the TIgers' Sebastian Marot coming back to win the second set. Rabinov finally prevailed in the tie-break 11-9 after saving a match point.

Antonioli, meanwhile was entangled in a close battle of his own, winning 10-8 in the breaker just seconds after the Rabinov-Marot matched ended.  The win pushed Antonioli to 5-0 one the weekend with two singles wins and teamed with Jacob Knagenhjelm at number one doubles to win all three of their matches.

"We had to fight for every point against an extremely talented Campbellsville University squad," said Bellarmine Coach John Mican.

The match was still in doubt when Alan Gardiner clinched it at number six singles with a tough 6-3, 6-2 win while minutes later the heavy hitting Jimmy Fernadez put some icing on the cake at number five singles with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

"Another great team win today and the entire weekend with contributions from the entire roster," Mican said, adding thata 12 different players were used during the three matches with Alan Gardiner going 4-0, Jacob Knagenhjelm 4-1 and Anton Rabinov  4-1.

The Knights push their record to 7-0 and look to continue it with two final home in door matches next weekend with visiting Centre College on Saturday and the University of Alabama at Huntsville coming in on Sunday.
