Syracuse, NY -- Syracuse University has sold 35,012 tickets to Saturday's game vs. Georgetown and has announced the game has officially sold out.

That number will break the previous Carrier Dome record for a basketball game, set on February 27, 2010 vs. Villanova. On that day, 34,616 passed through the Dome turnstiles.

Syracuse and Georgetown meet Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Dome for a game nationally televised by CBS. Former SU great Carmelo Anthony's jersey will be retired at halftime of the game. The contest also marks the end of an era in the Syracuse-Georgetown series. The teams will meet in the Dome for the final time as Big East rivals.

The Villanova game was also announced as a sellout in advance, the only other time Syracuse has done that for a men’s basketball game. After the 2010 game, Dome officials identified additional seats which could have been sold, plus courtside seats were added at the north end and west side of the court. Additional seats in the football press box area are also being utilized and contribute to the larger attendance number.
