Spring handprint chicks
Once you lay your peepers on these adorable sprint chicks, you’ll realize how quickly they will soon grow and leave the nest!
Materials
- Yellow paint
- Paper
- Markers (optional)
Directions
- Use a brush or dip your little one’s hand in yellow paint.
- Place one to three prints of their hand on the paper with their pinky and thumb spread out from their three other fingers.
- Once dry, you or your crafty kid can draw or paint eyes, a beak and some wing and feet shapes directly on the handprint for a frame-worthy keepsake.
Spring handprint card
It’s easy to celebrate spring while letting someone know you care with handprint crafts you can give as gifts!
Materials
- Colored cardstock paper for card and poem background
- Color printer, spring images from a magazine or recycled wallpaper
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions
- Fold cardstock in half and have your youngster trace her handprint with pinky-edge of palm touching foldline.
- Cut out handprint and open to resemble holding your hands in a book-like fashion.
- Print or cut out a spring image and glue on the left side of the inside of the card.
- Print out or write a poem or message on a different color of cardstock, cut and glue on the right side of the inside of the card and give to a loved one.

Spring handprint butterfly
Talk about a handy craft! This project also works as a handprint bee by simply changing the body and colors.
Materials
- Paint in colors of choice for wings
- Paper in color of choice for background
- Brown or black paper for body of butterfly
- Sequins, glitter or embellishments of your choice
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paint brush (optional)
Directions
- Dip or brush hand with paint and place handprints on the background paper facing opposite ways for the two wings.
- While paint dries, cut out the shape of a butterfly head and body out of construction paper.
- Glue body of butterfly in the middle of the handprints on the background paper
- Use sequins, glitter, or embellishments of any kind to decorate your butterfly’s body, face and wings and you’re done!
Spring handprint sun
This handprint craft will bring you a little sunshine, even when spring showers strike!
Materials
- Paper plate
- Yellow construction paper for 10 or more handprint cutouts
- Yellow paint
- Paint brush
- Markers for tracing and creating face
- Wiggle eyes
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions
- Paint the back of a paper plate with yellow paint and dry completely.
- Help your kiddo create eight to 10 handprint traces onto yellow construction paper and cut.
- Once plate is dry, glue handprint cutouts to the non-painted edge of the paper plate, fingers facing out.
- Glue on wiggle eyes and use marker to create a sunny smiling face to create a friendly handprint craft.

Spring handprint photo flower
A kids’ craft that combines photos and handprints deserves a round of applause!
Materials
- Paper for background
- Construction paper for flower in color of your choice
- Photo of your child
- Green paint
- Glue
- Scissors
- Paint brush (optional)
Directions
- Cut the photo of your child into a circle shape to form the center of the flower.
- Cut a flower shape from a colored piece of construction paper, slightly bigger than the photo you’ve cut.
- Use green paint to create a stem and your child’s hands to form leaves from her little handprint at the base of the stem.
- Glue the flower cutout at the top of the stem, followed by the photo of your kiddo in the center for a flower that stays bloomed all year long!
