Description

The FRIDAY mobile app offers a warm welcome and open door to slowing down, reflection, and connection.

Every Friday, 30 minutes before sunset, your phone asks, “Are you ready for Friday?” Your screen then recedes into a blissful twilight and serves up curated, thought-provoking stories from notable authors that fuel personal reflection and lively discussion. After reading, your phone’s screen fades from twilight to darkness, prompting you to put it away and focus on the present moment. But your phone can be awoken at any time.

Using head, heart, and humor, FRIDAY helps transition us from the stressful week into a more restful weekend state of mind. This free, one-of-a-kind app is open to all, and produced by Reboot and IDEO.

Great app to shift into the weekend

We all have busy weeks and at the end it can be tough to leave work behind and we often dive right into distractions. This app is a great way to remind me to separate from the workweek and not rush into weekend distractions. The reminder and topics/stories help me to take a breather and think a bit, and are a really great way to re-energize and get to a new frame of mind.

Needs updated

This app is good for getting people off their phones and tablets. But, it needs updated, and every week I open the app. No articles appear. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Looks great + is focused

The app looks great. I appreciate that it's not trying to make the user do too much. The purpose is focused: to present a new story each week and encourage one to think creatively and perhaps connect with others. A welcomed minimalist app where overload can be the norm.

The developer, Reboot, has not provided details about its privacy practices and handling of data to Apple.
