Quirky, Lofty East Atlanta Pad Lands Contract in a Jiffy

A modern-industrial take on an EAV cottage from 1980

Around the corner from East Atlanta Village, this fun-loving domicile makes the most of its rather unusual 1980s bones, embracing a modern-industrial aesthetic that appears to have paid off.

With a relatively sprawling 3,432 square feet, the home listed late last week at $350,000 and is under contract, records show. Deals of $101/per square foot are increasingly rare around Atlanta for properties that aren’t gut jobs — a fact that probably worked in this pad’s favor.

A study in high, slanted ceilings, it’s the kind of place where neon-green doors and whacky pendant lights seem right at home. With just three bedrooms and two and 1/2 bathrooms, one would guess the rooms are as large as they appear. A 25-by-25-foot bonus room off the master suite is hilariously described in the listing as being "monster."

Appliances in the open-shelving kitchen are new, per the listing, and appropriately modern lighting fixtures are a constant throughout. Bonus points for that industrial-looking, wood-burning stove.
