How to deal with SPAM email when using using Apple Mail (Mac Mail)
We hear complaints all the time about the lack of Junk mail filter using Mac Mail, here is what you can do to reduce the amount of Spam email you are receiving.
Firstly make sure you are using the latest version of Mac mail by upgrading your OS to the latest one you Mac supports. This should give you Apple Mail 11 or higher
Firstly, Enable Junk Mail Filtering
Click on Mail -> Preferences->Junk Mail
A number of options appear, click on “Perform custom actions” and then “Advanced”
You can now perform custom rules on all your incoming mail to make sure only non-spam emails get through
Marking new emails as SPAM or JUNK
Open Mac (Apple) Mail and select the email to mark as Junk or Spam
Right click the mouse and select “Move to Junk” or from the Top Menu select “Mail” -> “Message” -> “Move to Junk”
