Pitt lost its 13th straight game, this one by 13 points, in a 76-63 defeat by Miami on Tuesday night.

The Panthers trailed by five at the half and cut the lead to as little as a single point in the second half, but were unable to break through.

Miami forward Anthony Lawrence proved to be a difficult matchup for the Panthers. He scored 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting.

Pitt shot the ball better than it has recently, hitting 43.8 percent of its shots from the field, but the Panthers struggled at the free-throw line, hitting just 12 of 23 (52.2 percent).

Three more Hurricanes hit double figures, as Ebuka Izundu (14), DJ Vasiljevic (13) and Zach Johnson (12) all had above-average scoring nights.

Jared Wilson-Frame led the Panthers with 18 points on 6 of 11 from 3-point range. Xavier Johnson and Kene Chukwuka each added 10 points.

Pitt turned the ball over 15 times and Miami had 20 points off Pitt’s turnovers.

The Panthers (12-17, 2-15 in ACC) will close their regular season at home against Notre Dame on Saturday.
