Wedding Wednesday: Red and Aqua Dala Horse Inspiration

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I’m taking a break from all of our Denver snow to bring you a fun inspiration board based on Dala horses. The Dala horse (Swedish: Dalahäst) “has been around for many centuries, and probably was created by Swedish woodcutters in the province of Dalarna near Mora. During the long winters, these lonely men would spend their evenings away from their families, and passed their time by carving little toys for their children.” – http://www.svenskhyllningsfest.org/dala-horse.html . Over the years, it has come to be a symbol for the Swedish community in welcoming others to their towns and homes.

I adore these little horses as they are a nod to my maternal heritage and I like the message they convey: welcome and hospitality. What a great little idea to center one’s wedding around! So, if you like them as much as I do, here is a complementary color palette perfect for incorporation these little creations.
