Men's Cross Country | November 14, 2020
OAKWOOD, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's cross country team posted multiple personal-best finishes and recorded a ninth-place finish at the 2020 PBC Championship, which took place Saturday morning.
The 8k meet was hosted by North Georgia.
Augusta won the meet while Flagler and UNC Pembroke were second and third, respectively. Georgia College did not compete at the PBC Championship.
Head coach
Lauren Etheridge's squad was led by
David Weidner's 40
th-place finish. He notched a time of 30:24.3 for the contest. It marked the second-best time by Weidner this season.
Junior
Kyle Ready finished up his year with another solid performance, registering his fourth consecutive personal best. He placed 45
th after crossing the finish line in 31:25.4.
Joshua Whitley was not far behind Ready. Whitley's solid time of 31:29.0 was good enough for 48
th place. It was not only Whitley's top performance of the year, but also a personal-best effort for the multi-talented senior.
Kieran Short posted a time of 32:46.7 for 51
st place. It was a personal-best mark for him.
Juan Diaz garnered a 52
nd-place effort. He finished in 33:42.3. Diaz, a senior, went out with a personal-best time.
Freshman
Julian Salas turned in a 56
th-place finish after crossing in 36:23.9.
USC Aiken narrowly missed out on an eighth-place effort, trailing Francis Marion by two points.
