A pair of Gatineau police officers were arrested Friday morning and immediately suspended with pay after a criminal investigation into unauthorized use of a computer and breach of trust.

The officers, one with three years of service and the other four years of service, have not been charged.

One was released on a promise to appear with conditions. The second was released with a summons.

The force’s Professional Standards and Internal Affairs Division launched the investigation after receiving information from the public.

The Gatineau force said in a news release that members won’t be giving interviews or releasing further details to safeguard the investigation but promised to notify the media if prosecutors authorize that charges be laid.
