  • The Assistant Journal Manager role reporting to an Associate Publisher that will support activities aimed to ensure the success of a select group of AIP Publishing publications.

You’ll be a great fit if you have an interest in interacting directly with external stakeholders of the journal community. As well as providing the research, analysis and planning that drives journal objectives, and monitors progress towards targets as well as competitor and Editor performance.

The Assistant Journal Manager will be responsible for:

  • Support content development strategy to ensure the products are the leading publications in their respective fields through facilitating input from Editors and other stakeholders
  • Track key performance indicators, set targets, and measure success in producing and executing strategy to meet those targets
  • Work with Journal Managers and Editors to determine content as a basis for marketing efforts and for focused online features aimed at generating or enhancing presence in key communities
  • Assist with identification of content as a basis for marketing efforts and for focused online features aimed at generating or enhancing presence in key communities
  • Identify and monitor competing products’ features and conduct competitive analyses to maintain competitive advantage
  • Gather, analyze and report on information gleaned from other credible sources

To be considered you’ll need:

  • An advanced physical science degree, or bachelor’s degree and familiarity with research publication in physics-related journals a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork, time management, and organizational skills as well as the ability to take responsibility, assess complex situations, and work on own initiative

Additional details:

$65,000 - $75,000

Salary within the above posted range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience

Must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, or Washington, DC. This is a remote opportunity.
