A Brooklyn teaching assistant was collared for striking an 8-year-old student in the face, cops said.

Raifu Saka, 65, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly hitting the girl inside Public School 191 on Park Pl. in Crown Heights Monday.

Witnesses told police Saka and the child were arguing when the 8-year-old kicked him.

Saka allegedly responded by taking a swing at the child, hitting her in the face.

School officials immediately suspended Saka without pay pending a police investigation.

The teacher’s assistant has been with the Department of Education since 1999 and has been at P.S. 191 since 2009, according to a Department of Education spokesman.

This is the first time Saka’s been accused of any wrongdoing, education officials said.

Calls to Saka were not returned. His lawyer could not be reached.
