Second Annual IP Day – #WeLoveOurIPs

On April 2, 2020 APIC declared the first #InternationalIPDay right as the peak of Surge 1 hit New York City. Today, one year later we are keeping the encouragement going for our SECOND annual IP Day! We know that IPs are heroes behind the scenes in hospitals and healthcare facilities that are providing infection prevention guidance to the doctors and nurses fighting COVID-19 but they often go unrecognized for their hard work. On IP Day every year, we hope to change that!

We will be sharing graphics and little surprises to encourage the Infection Preventionists that we rely on every day (but especially during this time) to keep us safe and infection-free. We will also be sharing the inspiring stories and work of IPs throughout the last year so that everyone can see what we see—IPs are superheroes!

See where it all started at our APIC 2020 #WeLoveOurIPs site.

IP Stories: Read IP COVID-19 Stories and Submit Your Own:

You may have seen some of your friends highlighted in APIC’s weekly eNews letter, or on our social media—but did you know you can still submit your COVID-19 story?  APIC is collecting videos and photographs to tell the story of IPs during the time of COVID-19.  We are sharing the submissions via multiple channels, including a display on our website and recognition in our weekly newsletter and social media. Everyone’s experience being an Infection Preventionist during the coronavirus pandemic is different, and we want to hear yours! Submit your COVID-19 story here.

This year has shown the world the invaluable work that Infection Preventionists put into our communities, and APIC wants to recognize YOU. These stories were shared by our members, and the collection continues to grow! Read all of our IP stories in “Your Pictures, Your Words.”
