Correction: Middletown police officer suspended

After an executive (closed to the public) session during last night's Middletown Borough Council meeting, the council president announced that a police officer has been suspended for three days.

The officer, who was not identified, was suspended for "conduct unbecoming to a police officer."

The suspension was not related to yesterday's tree-removal protest in the downtown business district that led to arrests of two business owners. An earlier report was incorrect.

The reason for the officer's suspension was not made public.
